162. Black Sabbath / Black Bloody Black [Bootleg]. 1993. 5/5.

There are the odd occasions in life that you will purchase a bootleg live album, and the sound is great and the performance is great, and it is a ripper.
This is one of those.

This is a soundboard recording from Boston in 1992 on the Dehumanizer tour, when Black Sabbath Mark II had reformed with Dio and Appice re-joining Iommi and Butler. And it is absolutely sensational. Ronnie is in fine form and fine voice, and the other three sound great too. All the greats are here. It is awonderful mix of new songs off Dehumanizer, other Mark II stuff from Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules, and of course the essential Black Sabbath greats.
It is great that this tour was captured live, as the new songs sound great live, and as it turned out, it was pretty much the only time it was performed live.

This is a terrific live album, perhaps all the better because it wasn't given the 'official release' clean up and sanitisation. What you hear is what was played, and it is all the better for it.

Rating : One of the best examples you will find of a bootleg live album. But also one of the best examples you will find of a live album – period! 5/5.
